Indonesia's textile, clothing and accessories industry is experiencing unprecedented rapid development. This rapid development speed has exceeded Indonesia's demand, and it has become the largest newly emerging industrial sector in Indonesia to accumulate foreign exchange.
The textile industry is an important industry in Indonesia. Of the 94 million employed people in Indonesia, 12% are concentrated in manufacturing (approximately 11.3 million people), and the textile industry accounts for approximately 15% of the manufacturing industry (approximately 1.75 million people, no Including 2 million people with indirect employment), the textile industry has generated more than US$5 billion in foreign exchange for Indonesia each year in the past 10 years. According to statistics from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Indonesia’s textile exports reached 11 billion U.S. dollars in 2008, 11.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2009, and Indonesia’s textile exports reached 13.88 billion U.S. dollars in 2010, earning a surplus of 11.7 billion U.S. dollars, and an increase of 2.25 million in 2010. Job opportunities, 6.17 million new jobs will be added in 2030. The textile industry has always been the largest export contributor outside Indonesia's oil and gas. Indonesia's textiles and garments are used for 70% of exports, and its two largest export markets are the United States and the European Union (approximately 60% of total exports).
In the first half of 2011, my country's yarn exports to Indonesia were 120 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 87.8%, of which cotton yarn and chemical fiber yarn increased by 110.6% and 84.2% year-on-year. The export of fabrics to Indonesia was US$988 million, an increase of 57.5%.
